We've all sat in meetings where everyone agrees to run a sales promotion but no one can decide whether to do a quick BOGOF promotion, offer a discount or set a rebate!

What is going to work? Are your short term sales promotions linked to your longer term objectives?
Channel sales promotions are all about delivering 'perceived incremental value' in the eyes of your partners, otherwise they won't be motivated to change their actions. Pinpointing that 'value' is critical, but when was the last time you actually sat down and worked out which of your promotions actually increases sales versus no activity at all?
