REC case study

Our Task

To provide REC with in-depth channel consulting and develop a comprehensive channel business plan including a new Partner Programme.

Background and Results

REC (Renewable Energy Corporation) is the world’s leading vertically integrated supplier of cost-effective solar energy solutions.

To continue its drive to create a coherent and consistent channel of partners, REC wanted to implement a Partner Programme with clearly differentiated tiers and associated benefits for each. Having established this need, REC asked purechannels to help. Through an in-depth ‘whiteboard’ consulting session, looking at the key issues and imminent challenges in the market place, purechannels helped REC to define its overall channel programme structure and identified each tier’s qualifying criteria. As part of the process, purechannels also assessed the key motivators and business objectives of REC’s target audience to maximise uptake of the programme.

Armed with feedback from the initial consultancy phase, purechannels worked within existing pre-defined REC brand guidelines and subsequently created a compelling brand identity for the new REC Partner Programme. This encompassed a new logo, with variants for each tier; a stylised design for all collateral, including a 4pp overview brochure detailing elements of the Partner Programme. Copy was then created and translated into five different languages.

purechannels also sourced and project managed the design and production of REC’s partner plaques, including a prestigious version that was presented to the President of Singapore at the official opening of REC’s new Singapore based manufacturing facility.

The purechannels team continues to work closely with REC, including the provision of best-practise advice on managing its Marketing Development Funds (MDF), as it builds its channels further across Europe and beyond.
